Austin’s Art from the Streets provide the homeless and struggling artists with materials to create unique and affordable artwork in Austin. Meet some of the artists who are using their stories, history and unique perspective to create beautiful works of art sold that are sold to the public, providing financial support while building their self-esteem.

Join us for a vegetarian quiche demo with ingredients you can find at your local H-E-B.

+   12:30PM: "The Art of Fusion" with Eric Silverstein of the Peached Tortilla

Chef Eric Silverstein will be discussing his journey to where he is now, his new cookbook, “The Peached Tortilla: Modern Asian Comfort Food from Tokyo to Texas” and demoing the Southern Fun, one of the Peached Tortilla’s more popular noodle dishes.

+   2:30PM: "THE ART OF WINE" WITH ADVANCED SOMMELIERS PAUL OZBIRN AND ALI SCHMIDT

Sommelier couple Ali Schmidt & Paul Ozbirn will be exploring the 'Art of Wine' by walking the audience through a tasting of four Old World classics. They'll cover history, lore, and pedigree while engaging the audience to examine the wines using the deductive process they’ve acquired through years of study and experience. The tasting will be fun, interactive, and educational while also weaving in both Ali & Paul’s personal connection to their journey through the world of beverage.

+   4:30PM: "THE ART OF COCKTAILS" with Tim Angelillo of Sourced Craft Cocktails

The unique characteristics of Tito's Handmade Vodka & Waterloo No. 9 Gin

In this 30 minute demonstration, we'll learn about the Art & Science of making craft cocktails with a fun focus on two great local spirits brands. During our visit, you'll be about to sample two cocktails from Founder/CEO of Sourced Craft Cocktails while learning about the following:

  • The Trilogy - the balance of ethanol (spirits), acidity, and sweetness that crafts a cocktail
  • The difference between a "drink" and a "cocktail"
  • How the distillation process of Tito's Handmade Vodka and Waterloo No 9 Gin makes them each unique
  • Whoa, Black Betty cocktail - making each ingredient and then how to prepare it into a perfect cocktail
  • Nutty Professor cocktail - making each ingredient and then how to prepare it into a perfect cocktail
  • Q&A about the distillation of vodka/gin, how these cocktails where prepared, and any other questions about the spirits and cocktail industry

The Art of the Blend: Little City Coffee Roasters will discuss how origin, processing, and roasting effect flavor and how we use all of them to develop our blend profiles. Presentation will include a live roasting demo and tasting.
