Larry Goode is a mixed-media artist known for thoughtful collages that explore humor, whimsy, and melancholy. Using found objects, antique paper, and paint, Goode creates scenes that clamor for touch, examination, and thought. “I try to instill in my work an ingenuous sense of wonder and curiosity, yet retain a sense of reflection and space. If I can achieve this, then I consider my work a success,” he says. Goode’s work has been included in the HBO series, The Leftovers, displayed at the Austin–Bergstrom International Airport, the Austin Public Library, and has been acquired by the Art Institute of Chicago’s special collections library and Seton Hospital’s permanent collection.
Goode received his BFA from The University of Texas at Austin, and his MFA from Texas State University. He currently lives and works in Austin, Texas.
